12:00PM - 2:00PM Using AWR new features in 12c and mine the repository using advanced techniques

Abstract:

Learn how to use AWR data to analyze performance, perform capacity planning and tune your oracle 12c database. We will cover detailed query and instance performance from different viewpoints as well as RAC and interconnect performance and new 12c features such as the in-memory and multi-tenant options. We will look beyond standard reporting and show new ways to capture data and customize your own reports for performance and trend analysis purposes. AWR data and queries needed to inspect interconnect performance and problems will be presented with the scripts that you can take away and use. You will come away understanding the AWR tables and what you are able to do with them as you customize your own reports. Learnings gathered from RAC stress testing systems will be discussed throughout this presentation.

Some questions to be answered in this session are:
- How are in-memory objects reported in AWR?
- How do we deal with multi-tenant databases?
- What changes do I need to make to my existing queries and reports as I upgrade to 12c?
- How detailed and granular can I get with this data?

This will move beyond theoretical tips and will focus on real-world practical advice gathered from a large environment. You will come away with scripts that you can use immediately in your own environment.
